Koekais Guest Farm - A Preview

This 4 star self catering exclusive guest house was built using natural stone from the farm and the roof is thatched to blend perfectly with surrounding nature. Koekais is 17 kilometer east of Griekwastad on the road to Douglas. Griekwastad is more or less halfway between Upington and Kimberley on the N8 highway. We are conveniently situated on one of the most popular routes to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park as well as Namibia and Namaqualand.

The guest house is a beautiful, self-catering house with three en-suite double bedrooms and offers accommodation for up to 6 guests. We do not take separate bookings for the same periods to ensure the privacy and relaxation of our guests.

The house was finished with excellent quality fittings and furniture. Although the kitchen is fully equipped with full size stove, oven and fridge with freezer, microwave oven and all the pots, pans and crockery needed in a kitchen, meals or braaipacks with salads are available with prior arrangement.

We have recently switched to full solar power - our contribution towards sustainability and a cleaner environment... Sustainability

The bathrooms are stocked with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion for the use of our guests. The 400 liter heat pump geyser ensures a good supply of hot water.

All networks are covered in the area and the Vodacom signal is excellent for both voice and data in the guest house with the installed Vodacom signal booster. Limited free Wi-Fi is available and can be topped up on request and at current data prices. Television with DSTV.

The geyser, air conditioner, fridge and bulbs that we use throughout the guest house are all environmentally friendly and we also participate in recycling of waste.

For the children, there is a well designed jungle gym to enjoy.

The guest house has a spacious lapa where one can easily lose track of time while enjoying the fresh air and sights and sounds of surrounding nature. Star gazing is an awesome experience because of the exceptionally clear skies.  Guests can enjoy the added bonus of complimentary wood for their use in the fire pit and built-in braai in the lapa. More wood is available on request.

In the front of the house flows a stream for short periods when there is good rainfall in the catchment area. At these times there is also a bustling waterfall which was the main reason for choosing the specific site for the guest house. There is a wide variety of wildlife present in the vicinity of the guest house. Surrounding the house is a large area where guests can explore and enjoy nature.

We are continuously busy with improvements and developments to ensure an exceptional stay for each and every guest and we believe that the fine detail makes all the difference.
