THE KOEKAIS BORAN STORY ...
Koekais Boran had its beginning in 2015 after we had to take serious stock and decide in which direction to take the agricultural side of the farm after numerous droughts and other set-backs.
We have decided on Boran for its excellent qualities in adapting to harsh conditions. We subsequently bought our first 25 Boran stud cattle. Since then we have learnt a lot and there is a lot to learn yet but we are slowly but surely in the process of building Koekais Boran to achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves.
Koekais is a fifth generation family farm and every member of the family puts his or her heart and soul into the cattle farming as well as the guest house and shares all the responsibilities that come with the privilege of living and working on a farm.
Previous generations farmed mainly with sheep but a large Arabian horse herd called Koekais home in the late 1800’s.
While learning, praying, taking one day at a time, we are slowly but surely progressing towards establishing a Boran herd that we can be proud of.
